Fillmore County is in the eastern part of the Rainwater Basin, which is the narrowest portion of the migration route known as the Central Flyway. For a map and more information visit the Rainwater Basin Joint Venture web site

Public Places to visit for viewing:

Mallard Haven Waterfowl Protection Area (WPA) - 2 miles north of Shickley, Nebraska and other ./wpas.htm Wildlife Management Areas and Waterfowl Protection Area.

Little Blue Natural Resource District:  Bruning Dam 2 miles east, 1 mile north and 3/4 mile east of Bruning, NE in Fillmore County and Lone Star Recreation Area - 4 miles east of Ohiowa on Highway 74 and 1/4 mile south in Fillmore County.

The Secret Garden is filled with wide variety of trees, scrubs and flowers surrounding the Geneva Public Library. A patio on the south side of the library invites people to stop and read and enjoy the garden.
